Celebrating 70 Years of Mental Health Advocacy
Mental Health America of Greenville County (MHAGC) proudly marks its 70th anniversary, celebrating seven decades of advocacy, education, and support. Founded in 1955 as an affiliate of Mental Health America in South Carolina, MHAGC remains steadfast in its commitment to mental health in Greenville County and beyond.
Since its inception, MHAGC has launched transformative programs to support those facing mental health challenges. From its early Christmas gift project in the 1950s to socialization groups in the 1970s and supportive housing in the 1990s, the organization has continually adapted to meet community needs. Today, MHAGC plays a vital role in the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, provides Supported Housing for individuals with mental health conditions, and offers Consumer Support Services, Community Education, and resources for Survivors of Suicide Loss.
As MHAGC celebrates this milestone, it remains committed to fostering a future where mental health care is accessible, stigma-free, and life-changing.
